Recent studies of educational models of reform indicate a compelling need to personalize the college experience for students in such a way as to address their individual interests, goals, and academic abilities. Life Decisions Group has created a comprehensive and innovative program designed to create cultures of student success in colleges by providing that personalized experience for every student. Colleges that create cultures of student success can decrease dropout rates, increase graduation rates, and improve academic performance by helping students develop and implement effective decision-making skills while surrounding them with the necessary resources and support teams. • A Reading Assignment stresses the importance of students making good decisions regarding their educational, career, and life choices. All students should begin having read or reading It’s Your Decision, A Commonsense Guide to Making Better Choices. Books can be ordered directly from the publisher, Authorhouse, www.authorhouse.com, 888-280-7715, at a non-profit rate of $6.50 per book.
   
• Classroom or Group Presentation, “It’s Your Decision”, provided on the Creating a Culture of Student Success CD should be held early in the academic year and presented by the college’s student personnel services staff, counselors, and/or faculty to reinforce the reading assignment.
   
• The “It’s Your Decision” Presenter’s Guide available on the Creating a Culture of Student Success CD provides an engaging, educational program script for any college staff members who want to present the program to teach students how to make good educational and career decisions.
   
• The College Success Planner should be used to help students collect information that they will need when making personal, educational, and career decisions that will affect their entire life. This Planner should be completed by each student as they gather and organize information with the assistance of their counselors, faculty advisors, and Success Team members.
   
• The Peer Mentoring/Reader Reflection Guides available on the Creating a Culture of Student Success CD engage ad provide additional support for students as they meet with peer mentors or discussion leaders during the year to address topics discussed in It’s Your Decision, A Commonsense Guide to Making Better Choices. The Reader Reflection Guide can be utilized by individuals when a peer mentoring or group discussion opportunity is not available.
   
• Students along with the assistance of a primary advisor should use the Success Team Inventory available on the Creating a Culture of Student Success CD to create a team comprised of individuals who the students believe can provide the information and resources they will need to address both academic and non-academic issues. It is these Success Teams that students will look to for support as they make educational and career decisions.
